The sensor
One of the great novelties of the Leica Q3 is the new BSI-CMOS sensor with Triple-Resolution-Technology. With a resolution of either 60, 36 or 18 MP, images can be created in DNG format or processed JPEG files with a perfect appearance, straight out of the camera. When shooting at 60 MP, even the finest details and textures are captured. Shooting with 36 or 18 MP allows faster use, longer image sequences and smaller files. The Leica Q3 utilizes the entire sensor for all resolutions and has a sensitivity range of ISO 50 to 100,000 and the latest generation Maestro series processor with L2 technology ensures excellent operating speeds
The Lens
The construction and quality of the 28mm optics with an aperture of f/1.7 is one of the biggest contributors to the popularity of the Leica Q series. With its integrated macro mode, it allows close-ups from a minimum focusing distance of 17 cm. In combination with its high resolution, this third-generation Q also offers an extended digital zoom. This allows you to zoom to the focal lengths of 28, 35, 50, 75 mm and now also 90 mm. Two new and practical assistants, Leica Perspective Control (LPC) and Leica Dynamic Range (LDR), also ensure perfect JPEG images without post-processing
The autofocus
A significant development has also been made to the autofocus system in the Q3. A new hybrid autofocus system with both phase detection and contrast autofocus ensures extremely fast, accurate focusing and tracking of objects. So you can get the sharpness exactly where you want it.
The screen and viewfinder
The new tiltable 3-inch high-resolution touch screen with a high-quality tilting mechanism allows for unique viewing angles and creates even more creative possibilities when taking photos and videos. The electronic viewfinder has also been updated and now has a resolution of a full 5.76 megapixels, 120 fps and a delay of only 0.005 s.

Connections
The Leica Q3 continues to impress with its seamless and fast connectivity via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The camera is equipped with advanced MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology, which has increased the transmission speed to the Leica FOTOS app by up to 10 times compared to the previous model. With stable connection and high data transfer speeds to the Leica FOTOS app, videos can be easily uploaded from the camera to a smartphone. Different connection modes from "Eco" to "Performance" improve the mobile workflow and energy management of the Leica Q3. The Apple certification "Made for iPhone® and iPad®" and the included Leica FOTOS cable make the Leica Q3 the perfect tool for those who work with it on a daily basis.
Video
With the ability to record video in 8K resolution and high-efficiency codecs such as H.265 and Apple's ProRes, the Leica Q3 meets the needs of all video creators. The connection of external devices such as gimbals, power banks and display recorders is secured directly via USB-C and HDMI. Tethered shooting with Capture One or the Adobe Lightroom plug-in is also supported via the USB-C connection, further enriching the uses of this compact digital camera.
Wireless charging
Wireless charging is now also possible with the new Leica Charging Pad and the hand grip HG-DC1. This elegant charging pad conveniently charges the new powerful battery BC-SCL6 in the Q3 and many other Qi-compatible devices.
